My original plan for our bedroom was to create a beachy retreat feel. I’ve been gradually working on it but I’m not satisfied with the way things are turning out. Also, I decided that my resolution (design wise) for the new year is to be BOLD. I desperately need to jump out of my comfort zone and start experimenting with color. So, the plans for our bedroom have changed, and I might be in love! I want our bedroom to have color that both my husband and I like and my goal is to create an area that feels fancy and mature. So, here are my plans:
1.Metal Plaques purchased at Rod Works.
2. Create a DIY headboard similar to this one. I would love to make an upholstered bed frame to go with it, we’ll see!
3. I am in LOVE with white curtains a dark trim right now. So fancy! I plan to create a DIY version of these beauties.
4. The blue and white stripes will balance out the room a little and coordinate well with the other patterns I have planned for the room.
5. I LOVE these pillows! Here’s the dilemma….. I almost shat my pants when I found out how much a yard of that pretty floral fabric costs! It’s Schumacher’s Hot House fabric and don’t you worry…. it’s only a mere $105 a yard! I’m on a desperate search for the knock off version. Wish me luck :)
I’m still deciding on paint colors and trim work so I can’t do much until the room is painted. I’ll keep you updated!

Thanks Suzy! I cant wait to get started :)
That is crazy expensive fabric. Good luck on your hunt for a knock-off. I love your room ideas and can’t wait to see how they pan out!

So funny you are using yellow, gray and white… those area actually the exact colors I originally planned on using! I’ve just been crushing on navy blue for some reason lately. I’m sure your room will be beautiful!
You’ve got a great start here. It will be so fun to see it come together!

Love your mood board you put together and the colors on it! Amazing what makes fabric cost so much! You will find some fabric for pillows that is just as great and much cheaper! Can’t wait to see how the room turns out!
I know isn’t it crazy! Thanks for the positive vibes :)
Love the beds!! I love a simple but elegant bedroom and the things you’ve chosen are right up my ally! I’m still working on creating a bedroom that I love- maybe someday…
Thanks Julie! Its hard to decorate/work on your master. For some reason its always the last room in my house that gets any attention. I’m still debating between it and the kitchen lol ;)
um, yes. I want it all! where’s the striped duvet from?
thanks! I’m not sure where the duvet is from. I found it on pinterest and of course it has no link ergh :/ I think I will try to make my own.
Loving the look you are working with. Good luck with finding a knock of fabric – it’s gorgeous, so I hope you succeed.
Thank you so much! I’m going out to search this week :)
Great plans. Thanks for sharing at Bacon Time.
