Christmas

Giving In

I don’t know what it is about this week before Thanksgiving but it seems to be “the week” that I always put my tree up. I’m redoing my tree this year and I’m getting really antsy to see the finished product so….. I’M PUTTING UP THE TREE! I’ll take pictures when it’s all finished; it’s quite the process! For now here is what my tree looked like before…..

All of that burgundy is going bye bye and I can’t wait!

Monday Randoms

Just a few randoms for ya today :) I’ve been thinking A LOT about Christmas as I’m sure all of you have been too. I’m trying to redo my Christmas tree this year. It has a burgundy color in it that I’m not to fond of. I’m replacing it with creams and tans to make my tree more neutral. I asked you to help me decide which tree skirt I should make for my “new tree”. GEEESH this was a really hard decision. I still have equal feelings towards both of them but decided to go with the one that really caught my eye. Here is a little sneak peak for ya…. I’ll save the full on version for my tree reveal!

Now for the random…. I was finishing up a few link parties on Friday last week. My sweet four year old boy just woke up from his nap and was snuggling on my lap. I was in the middle of my “linkie love” and had just clicked on Liz Marie’s link.

She shared this cute little fella:

My little boy immediately informed me that he needed one of these in his bedroom. LOL oh boy! He has a vintage airplane themed room…. not quite sure how I will work this one in ;) At least he has good taste right!

Christmas before Halloween

I hope I don’t loose any followers over this…. please let me defend myself just a little first. NO I’m not putting my Christmas stuff up before Halloween…. PHEW!  I had a vision last year to completely redo the look of my Christmas tree…. I never had the time to do it. I usually put my tree up relatively close to Thanksgiving which happens to be a short four weeks away! I want to have all of my new “tree stuff” ready so all I have to do is assemble the beauty. SO that’s why I’ve got the good ol Christmas decor on the brain! The color scheme and style I currently have just don’t fit well in my home anymore. I want to lighten up the look of my tree a little with some natural muslin fabrics and the colors of tan, cream, and brown. I will, of course, need a new tree skirt to go along with the whole new look. That is where YOU come in my friend! I’m stuck on the look of two really beautiful skirts. I honestly think I love them both equally so if you could help me decide that would be greatly appreciated!

Both skirts are AMAZING right?!? According to my crafting guestimations I think they will both require, roughly, the same amount of time. The ruffles will have to be individually glued and pleated but the roses are also made individually.  Either one will work perfectly with my new Christmas tree vision….. SO it makes for a hard decision! What do you think? All crafting/preparation aside (lets say you were just going to buy it from the store) which one would you choose? Please tell me I’m not the only one that’s already started to think about Christmas goodies?

Christmas Wreath Makeover

I made this wreath two years ago and I’ve had a change in taste. It is a really cute wreath but I wanted something more classy….. more Pottery Barnish ;) One of my good buddies suggested going non-traditional and boy am I glad she did! After looking at the pictures of the finished product, I realized that its missing one more thing….. PINECONES! What do you think about the non-traditional colors?
