Master Bedroom :: Relaxing Retreat

I know I know….. I disappeared for awhile! I’ve recently been able to drop to part time hours at work. I have more time for my cute boys and blogging. Hooray! I have been busy working on a new entrepreneur business with my husband though (details to come soon).  All in all I’m finally able to start blogging a little more again!

So, I believe I left off working on my headboard and just finishing my faux brick wall. I’ve finally created the Relaxing Master Bedroom Retreat that I’ve been day dreaming about! I still need artwork, window treatments, and little pieces of decor but it’s finally presentable.  I could give you all of the details on how I changed the paint color a zillion times and the bedding I couldn’t decide on but I think I’ll just share the pretty pictures with you instead!

Here are a few pictures that show a the evolution of my bedroom

Master Bedroom :: Relaxing Retreat

This lovely beauty was our very first bedroom set! It wasn’t long before we upgraded to the four post bed.

Master Bedroom :: Relaxing Retreat

I was in love with this bed! Unfortunately it was so big that we couldn’t shut the bedroom door. Yep that’s a problem!

Master Bedroom :: Relaxing Retreat

I sold the four post bed and began the complete renovation of our bedroom. This was the blank slate I started with!

Master Bedroom :: Relaxing Retreat

I am so happy with my finished Master Bedroom and it totally offers the relaxing retreat I was after. I enjoy every aspect of it every day!

Headboard: I recovered and tucked myself. Info to come soon

Everything else was purchased over the years from thrift stores and several other places. I hope you’ve enjoyed!

Google Friend Connect ~ A New Change

There is a BIG change that’s coming March 1, 2012. Google announced that Google Friend Connect will only be available to blogs hosted through Blogger (which I am not). That means you will loose touch with your followers, and the blogs you love to stalk, unless you connect via other sources.

Here is where the “New Change” falls into play. There is a new option called Linky Followers. Roeshel at shares a great post with all a lot of info.

I would love to keep every single one of you as a follower so let me give you the 411 on…..

HOW TO STAY IN TOUCH:

1. At the top left hand corner of my blog you will seeclick on that and you can follow along in your preferred reader ex: Google+

2. Scroll Down to the bottom of my blog and you will see the following choices:

~ follow along via the NEW Linky Followers

~ follow along on

~ follow along on

~ follow along on Bloglovin

While we’re at it WHAT’S YOUR PREFERENCE? What option do you prefer to use to stay in touch with your favorite blogs? I JUST signed up for Bloglovin but from the looks of it I think it might be my 1st choice!

IMPORTANT: I will continue to keep the Google Friend Connect on my site until the end of February. If you are a current GFC follower PLEASE switch to Linky Followers BEFORE March 1 :)

My New Look

I mentioned that Lavender and Lemon Drops would be getting a new look and my design plans for our master bedroom inspired it. I can’t wait to get everything up and running but this whole CSS thing in Word Press is pretty dang confusing! Hopefully we will be ready for take off within the next month or so. For now here is a little  sneak peak of what the header and back ground will look like. Creating a new design for your blog is sorta hard. You want to be unique,  but there are about five bazillion blogs out there, so it makes things tricky. My main plan was to create a fresh new look so hopefully I’ve achieved that!

So go ahead…. be honest! Tell me what you think!

Stripes or Solid

I’m getting a few things organized for my next project. It’s in my own home and I can’t wait! My poor little house has been slightly neglected lately because I was so busy working on the Parade Home. Here are my inspirational pictures/idea’s of what I might be doing!

These stripes but with this color.

and I might attempt some DYI artwork.

I love these simple art pieces that made. I might change up the colors a bit; we’ll see.

Decisions…. Decisions….. I’ll keep brainstorming!
