Faux Beam Shelf

It’s done and I’m in LOVE! I’ve been drooling over this shelf since I spotted it over at . She just recently added a little FYI tutorial to her site so we could all have an awesome faux beam in our on home!  I also finished re-painting my entire house. It went from a neutral tan to a greenish/blue. It’s quite the change but I really wanted something that would lighten up my space and it did just that!

We are in the process of re-wiring the living room so we can swap the couch and the TV (hint… that’s why the TV isn’t centered below the beam). We want to open the space up a little more. I’m still not sure if I will like it better; so here is a good before picture. I’ll post some pics when we get it swapped and you can give me your opinion!

The decor is a little on the dark side right now because of my new fall leaf garland. I love those big chunky leaves though ;)

I bought the leaf garland, yellow clock, the @ sign and little green tree shrub from Rod Works just recently. The scale, and lantern are my awesome antique finds. Everything else I’ve had on hand for quite awhile.  mentioned that she paid a lot for her corbels. I purchased both of  mine from Hobby Lobby for $20 BUCKS total! When I bought them they were black. I painted them cream and added some glaze. Here is the  Hobby Lobby down low! They rotate through the different departments and have a 50% off sale every week. If you wait it out whatever you need from there will most likely go 50% off. It saves A LOT when you are purchasing spendy things.
The little skeleton heads are from the Dollar Store last year. I am in LOVE with my new pillows! My good friend just bought some of these from IKEA and I just couldn’t resist! The covers are only $13 and the pillow inserts are $6.99. Love them!

So what do ya think about the faux beam? I think it’s just what my over sized wall needed! Have a fantastic weekend. We are celebrating my little man’s 2nd birthday tomorrow :)

Fresh Paint & Spooky Decor

I finished painted my living room and I LOVE IT! I really wanted my living room to have a much lighter and fresh feel and that’s what I got. It’s not even close to being finished. The walls are still bare and my furniture needs to be rearranged but I just have to share!

This is what my living room looked like when we first moved in. The walls and the ceiling were the same tan color.

Here is the new color. Its Valspar Anti Meridian aka Heaven ;) You can see the old tan on my other walls….. I’m not completely done yet lol

My furniture is going to be totally flipped around to open up the space. I am going to make some curtains and pillows as soon as I’m done painting. That beauty of a wingback in the corner was my first reupholster job ever. I love the blue and orange together!
Here is my gallery wall with the tan paint.
Here is the wall with the blueish/green paint and some spookified halloween friends. What do you think about the Halloween stuff? My husband thought I was leaving it like this for good lol I got the black cheese cloth stuff, the skeleton head, and black birds at the dollar store.

I picked up these cute skeleton’s from the dollars store.

It’s all coming together….. slowly. I can’t wait to show you the final room!

Halloween Decor

I’ve had this wreath forever and have never really liked it much. It usually spends most of its time buried under all of my seasonal decorations in the basement. I really needed a new Halloween wreath so I decided to spray paint that bad boy and spruce it up a bit! I gave it a few coats of black paint and added a little Halloween wreath I found at Tai Pan for 5 bucks with some funky ribbon and boy does it look better! I added it to my spooky table decor and I think I might just like her now!
