2011 SLC Parade of Homes – Paint Info

I’m dying to paint my kids bathroom a new blue color. I think I’m going to the Misty Morn blue paint that was in the master bedroom of the Parade Home I just finished. I thought I would share the paint info for all of the paint colors I used in the home. I’ve added links so you can see them in the actual rooms; its always hard to tell what the color actually looks like from a paint swatch.

This color is on all of the other walls in the home. The sample looks REALLY dark. It’s not so don’t be afraid ;)

Now go paint something ;)

2011 SLC Parade of Homes – Laundry Room and Mud Area

Welcome to the Mud Room! You walk into the mud room from the garage. To the right you have your laundry room and to your left you have the half bath. I finished my first stencil job in the half bath and I feel very accomplished! A stenciled wall might appear in my home soon!

I LOVE the simplicity of the mud area. The storage unit is from IKEA and I like that it’s not your typical bench or shelving units. It brightens up the space and gives it a clean, organized look.

I made the message board out of an old window and chicken wire. The reminder notes are attached to the chicken wire with clothes pins. If I had a mud room in my house I might have four of these ;)

The awesome Wash, Dry, Fold sign is an old door that I bought from Sausha. She refinished it and added the cute stencil. She was a BIG lifesaver. I was in a time crunch towards the end and had a hard time finding a few things I needed that were within budget. Sausha happened to have the furniture pieces I needed and the amazing laundry room sign that filled that big wall perfectly! She does amazing work so make sure you check out her !

Do you recognize any of the decor accessories? I used some of my own things to fill in a few gaps. I can’t wait to find a nestled spot for my awesome goodies when the parade is over. Do I hear a little home rearrangement calling my name? Possibly ;) shhhh it wont be anything too big so don’t tell the husband lol

2011 SLC Parade of Homes – Living Room and Kitchen

This is a really awesome table; it’s expandable! We borrowed this table from Sausha from   for the parade. If you are interested in purchasing it check out her website/contact info.

I found those old french doors on KSL. I cleaned them up and added some yellow and cream paint streaks and a glazed a few areas. They were the perfect fix for that HUGE wall!

They have an AMAZING kitchen. The stove, double ovens, and that awesome refrigerator that is made to blend with the cabinets would make anyone want to cook all day!

I found these over sized chairs at TjMaxx. They are lovely and one of the most comfortable chairs I’ve ever sat it!

We found that awesome yellow table through Sausha. She hadn’t started on it yet so we got to pick the color. At first I felt like it was a little too big but it grew on me and I LOVE it now!

Instead of using the classic curtain rod to hang the window treatments I went with a wrought iron piece that has three hooks on it. I draped two slots from the curtain panel over each hook and voila! They obviously aren’t functional but I love the unique style they bring to the room.

Tomorrow will wrap up the tour of House #9 from the 2011 SLC Parade of Homes. I’ll be showing you the Laundry Room and Mud Area. I hope you’ve enjoyed the tour!

2011 SLC Parade of Homes – Master Bed and Bath

The master bedroom has the most beautiful paint color. It’s easily my favorite wall color in the house! Master bedrooms should be a place of escape; your private destination if you will. You should feel relaxed and comfortable in you bedroom. That was the exact feel I was aiming for when decorating this room. I originally wanted to go for a “resort/beachy” design; it ended up being a classier version.

The bedroom has a cathedral ceiling. It is to pretty to simply paint so I added trim where each wall met with another. It’s very simple but elegant and that seems to be how the whole room turned out!

The second I choose that blue paint color for the room I knew I wanted to add some gold/yellow accents. You can hardly see them in the picture but the leafs on the throw have a rich gold through them. The throw became my base for the bedding and the rest of the room decor; it pulled everything together.

This bathroom vanity has an open bottom and a  HUGE black pipe that dropped 3/4 the way below the sink. It desperately needed to be hidden. I found this over-sized shallow basket at Hobby Lobby and filled it with towels and some of my antique finds! It’s  the perfect fix.

The bathroom has an AMAZING walk in shower. The natural light from the windows and the slight coloring in the tile is perfect for a relaxing hot shower!

The master bed and bath wouldn’t be complete without an over sized walk in closet. The center island is perfect for folding/putting away clothes and provides extra storage.

The master bedroom is easily my favorite room in the house. I love the relaxing open space and colors. The bathroom is very spacious and clean. There is one BIG piece to this room that is missing. We had a hard time finding the right thing so we haven’t put it in yet. As soon as its installed and picture worthy I will update! It definitely completes the room.

I’ll show you the main area’s of the house tomorrow; the Living Room and Kitchen!
