Duvet Covers

I’m on the search for some bedding for my room and this is hard work I tell ya! I’ve found a few potentials the only problem is that they are completely different! I need your help so go ahead a pick your favorite.

First up is the Vanessa bedding from Pottery Barn. I love the print and the colors.

I’m slightly worried that it will be too busy with my faux brick wall. This type of print kinda needs to be the center of attention.

My other option is the Striped Duvet Cover from West Elm. I love the simplicity of this bedding.

So which one is your favorite? Do you have “secret spots” where you shop for bedding?

Mid Century Dressers

I think I need a mid-century dresser for my bedroom makeover! The style is slightly out of my “norm” but that’s my goal for this year, to be BOLD! I like how each dresser is slightly different but yet the same. I’ve seen a lot of mid century makeovers lately and I’ve loved every single one of them! Let me share some inspiration:

I love them all but this one is probably my favorite

So what do you think? Have you fallen in love with mid century furniture?

Picking Paint: Mood

When you begin the decorating process in any room it’s very important to keep in mind the “mood” you want to set. For example in a theater or game room you would want it to be fun and inviting, whereas in your bedroom you might want it to be calm and relaxing. Its amazing what color can do for your mood!

Mood

How do you want to feel when you’re in your room? What type of energy are you after?

~ Calming, Relaxing, Quite and Restful – neutral,  soft, cool colors will create this feeling

~ Active, Stimulating, Exciting, and Sociable – strong bold colors are used for drama

~ Formal and Orderly – neutrals and warm blues/greens create this ambiance

When choosing a color for a bedroom be careful not to pick an overstimulating hue. Its been said that brighter colors can cause irritability and unrest. The picture below completely explains why ;)

Isn’t color fun!

Jacobean Pillows

I have been on a wild goose hunt searching for a knock of fabric to use in my bedroom. Well… I’m sick of searching! I caved and bought two of these awesome Jacobean pillows and I’m in LOVE! I can’t wait for them to get here!

{}

I paid $45 a piece for my Jacobean pillows. The Shumacher Pillows (below) are between $70 – $90 a piece. The Jacobean’s are more on the bold side but I think they are close enough dontcha think?

What do ya think? Would you have paid the extra and gone with the Shumacher print?
