Kids Room’s

Striped Bathroom

I solved my debate between stripes and solids. I can’t wear horizontal stripes but my bathroom sure can! Here are a few before pictures. The lovely builder tan paint color and my dark brown decor just wasn’t working in my boy’s bathroom! It was screaming “add something boyish PLEASE!”

I’m removing those towel racks and replacing them with something much better. I have a tip on how to remove those darn things for ya too! -you’ll have to wait until the final reveal though-

Here is a little sneak peak of what the walls look like. I’m still need to grab a few more things and finish up the decor portion before I reveal the whole picture. It’s looking more “boyish” that’s for sure! I used the same blue color in the Master Bedroom/Parade Home that I decorated. I instantly fell in LOVE with it and I’ve been DYING to use it somewhere in my house. I think it landed itself in the perfect spot :)

My oldest boy is so excited about his new blue stripes! I can’t wait to show the whole room; hopefully SOON :)

2011 SLC Parade of Homes – Paint Info

I’m dying to paint my kids bathroom a new blue color. I think I’m going to the Misty Morn blue paint that was in the master bedroom of the Parade Home I just finished. I thought I would share the paint info for all of the paint colors I used in the home. I’ve added links so you can see them in the actual rooms; its always hard to tell what the color actually looks like from a paint swatch.

This color is on all of the other walls in the home. The sample looks REALLY dark. It’s not so don’t be afraid ;)

Now go paint something ;)

2011 SLC Parade of Homes – Make A Wish Room and Kids/Main Bath

This bedroom is dedicated to a little boy whose wish was to go to Lego Land. His wish was granted and this room is in honor of him. A company was hired to do all of the mural painting and the architect, Walker Home Design, donated and decorated the room.

This is the main/kids bath. I wanted the bathroom to be designed as a kids bath but with a mature touch. I think the natural tone of the beach wood accents the green paint well.

Remember my starfish artwork that I made? They worked out GREAT for this bathroom!

Tomorrow is the Master Bed and Bath; I’m in LOVE with the paint color! Thanks for following along. I hope your enjoying the tour :)

Airplane Bedroom Decor

My oldest son will be turning 4 in a few months. I’ve always felt like there was something missing in his room. It just needed something to tie it all together. A little Pottery Barn wall art gave me the inspiration I needed (the picture isn’t posted on their site anymore or I would list it). I used two boards, some craft paint, and a good friend’s sketching abilities to create the plane above his bed. He loves it!  His space is finally starting to feel more like a “big boy room”. I bought red curtain panels and added a light blue strip to the middles. Finally, my vision is coming together. I have plans to add a few more vintage themed things to his room.

The clock on this shelf will receive a makeover soon. It needs a little vintage touch.

He LOVES his new big boy room and comments on his airplane that “mommy made for me” every night :) I love that boy!
