West Elm – In Love With Navy

OK…. I have a major obsession with West Elm. I could browse around on their site for hours and fill my cart with all of my “day dreaming purchases”. My creative goal for this year is to Be Bold. I sort of fell into the whole cream shabby chic look. Don’t get me wrong I really love it but I want to discover my colorful side! I need to fill my creativity with color and I’m really crushing on Navy right now. Here is a little West Elm and Navy combo…..

I LOVE this duvet cover. It’s not quite my style but I’m still in love with it.

My good friend a room that had a navy striped duvet. I quickly repined and fell in love with stripes. So here are my Navy and Stripe West Elm loves.

While I’m on the bedding kick I was very excited to see this beautiful duvet in the sale section. Of course they only have the twin size left. How do you feel about white comforters for you bed. I have two boys… am I crazy?  I think it will look awesome with a colorful throw and some pillows.

My New Look

I mentioned that Lavender and Lemon Drops would be getting a new look and my design plans for our master bedroom inspired it. I can’t wait to get everything up and running but this whole CSS thing in Word Press is pretty dang confusing! Hopefully we will be ready for take off within the next month or so. For now here is a little  sneak peak of what the header and back ground will look like. Creating a new design for your blog is sorta hard. You want to be unique,  but there are about five bazillion blogs out there, so it makes things tricky. My main plan was to create a fresh new look so hopefully I’ve achieved that!

So go ahead…. be honest! Tell me what you think!

Terrariums

I’ve seen terrariums floating around blog land and in quite a few stores for a few months now and I’m starting to fall in love with them. I’m not much of a “plant girl” but I REALLY like the look of these! I have a funny little space in the corner of my kitchen that really needs something new. I think I might have to make a few of these! Here are some of my inspiration pictures:

These ones are my favorite and I already have some of those jars! She also has great tips and step by step instructions on how to make your own. I’ll be using them!

I love the idea of putting a few succulents in mason jars… I also have a few of those lying around! I’ll have to stop by TjMaxx or IKEA and see if I can find a few more glass jars. I cant wait to make my own and don’t worry I’ll post a few pictures when they are done!

Master Bedroom Design

My original plan for our bedroom was to create a beachy retreat feel. I’ve been gradually working on it but I’m not satisfied with the way things are turning out. Also, I decided that my resolution (design wise) for the new year is to be BOLD. I desperately need to jump out of my comfort zone and start experimenting with color. So, the plans for our bedroom have changed, and I might be in love! I want our bedroom to have color that both my husband and I like and my goal is to create an area that feels fancy and mature. So, here are my plans:

1.Metal Plaques purchased at Rod Works.

2. Create a DIY headboard similar to this one. I would love to make an upholstered bed frame to go with it, we’ll see!

3. I am in LOVE with white curtains a dark trim right now. So fancy! I plan to create a DIY version of these beauties.

4. The blue and white stripes will balance out the room a little and coordinate well with the other patterns I have planned for the room.

5. I LOVE these pillows! Here’s the dilemma….. I almost shat my pants when I found out how much a yard of that pretty floral fabric costs! It’s Schumacher’s Hot House fabric and don’t you worry…. it’s only a mere $105 a yard! I’m on a desperate search for the knock off version. Wish me luck :)

I’m still deciding on paint colors and trim work so I can’t do much until the room is painted. I’ll keep you updated!
