Bathroom

On the Agenda…..

Just a heads up…. I am doing a fun little series next week!  I will be sharing several tips, ideas, and tricks on curtains. The best way to spice up a room is to add or change out your curtains and there are so many options out there! I have several rooms in my house that are in need of some serious curtain love. I thought I’d share some of my favorites that I’ve come across with you! Here is what you have to look forward to next week:

Striped Bathroom Reveal

I finished my boy’s bathroom and I’m in LOVE! I changed the paint color from the “builder tan” and did blue and off white stripes. I switched out the brown decor for some neutrals and a few accent colors. It’s made the bathroom SO much brighter!

I purchased the cute bird shower curtain from West Elm.

All of the awesome glass jars are my antique finds that I’m still in love with.

I found the old shower caddy at The Nook and Cranny antique shop in Lehi.

These cute DIY arts were the easiest thing ever! I used idea and they are perfect in the bathroom!

So what do you think? You can check out the before pictures here if you dont remember the lovely brown ;) We love it and my sweet boys like their blue bird bathroom!

Hang Those Curtains!

Every room in your house needs some type of window treatment. There are various ways to hang curtains; the typical way being with a curtain rods. I needed to hang panels in a living room that wasn’t in need of functional curtains. Their sole purpose was for decor. I wanted something more unique for my clients living room. I originally thought about draping the curtains over three/four separate pegs similar to this:

After browsing around I decided to go with a simple wrought iron piece that has three hooks. I purchased it from Hobby Lobby during their 50% off sale.

The curtains serve no functional purpose and are there for decor only. I love the simplicity behind these curtains but that bold yellow makes such a statement!

The best part about these bad boys…. they were SOOO easy to hang! Each panel had fabric slats along the top/back. I fed two slats through a hook and then skipped a slat. I didn’t have to alter the length or do any sewing to hang them!

I wish I would have taken a picture with both windows in it. The curtains framed the rock fireplace perfectly! You can check out more images from the Parade of Homes Living Room if you want! Happy curtain hanging!

Striped Bathroom

I solved my debate between stripes and solids. I can’t wear horizontal stripes but my bathroom sure can! Here are a few before pictures. The lovely builder tan paint color and my dark brown decor just wasn’t working in my boy’s bathroom! It was screaming “add something boyish PLEASE!”

I’m removing those towel racks and replacing them with something much better. I have a tip on how to remove those darn things for ya too! -you’ll have to wait until the final reveal though-

Here is a little sneak peak of what the walls look like. I’m still need to grab a few more things and finish up the decor portion before I reveal the whole picture. It’s looking more “boyish” that’s for sure! I used the same blue color in the Master Bedroom/Parade Home that I decorated. I instantly fell in LOVE with it and I’ve been DYING to use it somewhere in my house. I think it landed itself in the perfect spot :)

My oldest boy is so excited about his new blue stripes! I can’t wait to show the whole room; hopefully SOON :)
